Student visas
Once we have made you an acceptance offer, you can apply for a student visa. You must have a student visa to enter the UK.
Being accepted by Hamilton College does not guarantee a student visa, but it may help start the process.
You will need to apply through your local British Embassy, British High Commission or consulate. Or you can find out more about applying for a UK visa
Working in the UK during college
London is a lively city with bars, restaurants, shops and leisure facilities where many of our students work. Full-time students can work up to 20 hours a week during the term, or full-time in the holidays.
However, you shouldn’t rely on income from your job to fund your studies, as there is no guarantee you will find work. It is also important that your work does not interfere with your studies.
Working in the UK after college
When you finish college, there are several schemes allowing students to stay in the UK for a certain period after they have graduated. These include the International Graduate Scheme (IGS), the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP), Training and Work Experience Scheme Permits (TWES), the Innovators Scheme and more
The UK Council for Student Affairs lists details of schemes to help you work in the UK
